Let's Journal

The Hawaiian Aura Journal

Let's Journal

Begin your morning with a gentle pause.

A quiet place to breathe, reflect and write. Pour something warm, find a comfortable seat, and let these prompts meet you right where you are. There is no right way to do this, only your way.

A simple morning ritual

Ten quiet minutes is plenty. Come back to it whenever you need a soft place to land.

1

Breathe

Take three slow breaths. Let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale, and let your shoulders soften.

2

Settle

Notice how you feel this morning, without needing to change anything. Simply say hello to yourself.

3

Write

Choose one prompt and let the words come as they are. Messy, short or wandering is all welcome here.

Morning reflection

Today's prompt

Sit with this one for a few breaths before you begin. If it doesn't feel right today, draw another.

Prompt 1 of 8

How does my body feel as I wake this morning, and what is it gently asking for?

Journal by pillar

Six values to guide your pages

Hawaiian Aura is rooted in six Hawaiian values. Choose the one that calls to you this morning, or move through them across the week.

Aloha

Love, compassion and kindness

Aloha is love shared freely, beginning with how we greet ourselves.

  • Where can I offer love today without expecting anything in return?
  • How might I speak to myself with the same kindness I give others?
  • What does aloha feel like in my body when I truly let it in?

Mana

Life force and inner strength

Mana is the energy that moves through us. Notice what fills you and what drains you.

  • What fills my cup and helps me feel most alive?
  • Where am I giving my energy away that I'd like to gently reclaim?
  • What strength did I show recently that I can honor this morning?

Pono

Balance and right relationship

Pono is living in harmony with ourselves, others and the world around us.

  • What feels in balance in my life right now, and what feels a little out of step?
  • Is there a choice or conversation that would help me feel more pono?
  • What does living with integrity look like for me today?

ʻOhana

Family, connection and belonging

ʻOhana includes the family we are born into and the family we choose.

  • Who helps me feel at home in the world?
  • How can I let someone in my ʻohana know they matter today?
  • Where do I feel I truly belong, and how can I return there more often?

Mālama

To care for and tend

Mālama is caring for the land, for one another and for ourselves.

  • How will I care for my body and spirit today?
  • What small act could I offer to care for the ʻāina, the land around me?
  • What in my life is asking for gentle tending right now?

Hā

The breath of life

Hā is the breath we share. Begin here whenever words feel far away.

  • Pause for three slow breaths. What do I notice?
  • What am I ready to breathe in today, and what am I ready to breathe out?
  • When do I tend to hold my breath, and how might I soften there?

A gentle note

This journal space is for reflection and self-care. It isn't a substitute for professional support. If you're carrying something heavy, please reach out to someone you trust or a licensed professional. You don't have to hold it alone.

Malama Pono my friend, take care, always.

With deep respect, Hawaiian Aura honors the kānaka maoli, the Native Hawaiian people, whose language, values and wisdom inspire this practice.
